Or just wanted to make a movie to appease the masses. Not just the Trek fans but the community as a whole. Now whether or not this erases the "stigma" that Trek has garnered over the years... Who knows.... But it's going to take more than *just* the fans to keep the franchise going... The fandom needs "new blood" to keep it going for many more years to come.
